Origins of the ministry

This ministry emerged from Jon's experience as an online Quaker musician and videographer, and from his years founding the QuakerSpeak video project. The work asks a rich set of questions: “what does it mean to be Quaker in the 21st century? What does faithfulness look like when regarding the internet? How does our legacy as ‘publishers of truth’ apply to today’s society and media technologies?”

The Podcast

The primary focus of the first year of the Thee Quaker Project was launching a weekly podcast, Thee Quaker Podcast. The first season of this podcast reached a wide audience, with over 40,000 downloads from 99 countries over 20 episodes. These episodes covered a wide variety of themes, from delving deep into historical Quaker figures to how Quakers today are using the Internet. Several of the episodes feature interviews with members of Central Philadelphia Meeting.
